12kW vs 15kW:
A 12kW boiler is best suited to smaller, well-insulated homes with lower heating and hot-water demand. A 15kW boiler provides extra capacity for larger properties or homes with higher usage.
System vs Combi:
A combi boiler provides heating and hot water on demand from a single compact unit, making it ideal for smaller homes. A system boiler works with a separate hot water cylinder, making it better suited to larger properties.
Electricity Running Costs:
A typical 1–3 bedroom home using an ECA Arceus electric boiler can expect annual electricity costs of £800–£1,800, depending on insulation, usage and tariff rates. Running costs are slightly higher than gas, however require no flue, no gas safety checks and minimal servicing costs.
